Ape Entertainment’s critically acclaimed comic book Bizarre New World returns in April 2008 with a 48 page follow up titled “Population Explosion.” To help promote the new book, writer / creator Skipper Martin is giving away ONE (1) HAND-MADE CUSTOM LIGHTSABER, created just for this contest by Robert Iannaccone of Advanced Light Weaponry (www.advanced-light.com) valued at $500! The saber itself is (to quote Robert’s site) “painstakingly hand crafted to be a functional piece of sci-fi artwork. I specifically designed my blades and hilts for full contact dueling stresses. They are bright, and perfect for martial arts or fight choreography dueling.” This saber also has a built in sound system for added realism, and a removable blade so it can be worn on a belt as a costume prop!

There’s no purchase necessary to enter the contest, shipping costs are included. Anyone wanting to enter need only do these three things:

Read issue #3 of Bizarre New World and answer three (3) questions correctly about the book. It can be read for free HERE, or HERE.
Choose a random number between 0 – 9999.
Fill out the online entry form HERE and submit it. The questions you need to answer are on the entry form.

What is the random number for? The final winner will be chosen matching the eligible contestant’s chosen number and the last 4 digits of the final closing figure of the Dow Jones Industrial on 2/19/08. For example if the final Dow Jones amount is “12,099.30” the winning number is “9930.” This number is completely random, and can be checked in many places such as http://finance.yahoo.com/. If no exact matches are found, the closest number without going over will be selected as the winner. Contest entries must be received no later than Monday 2/18/08.

The contest is only open to United States residents who are 18 years of age or older, one (1) entry per person only.

BUT…

1.            Eligibility: The Bizarre New World Custom Saber Contest (the “Promotion”) is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older and located in the U.S. at the time of entry. Employees, contractors, directors and officers of Skipper Martin (“Sponsor”), Ain’t It Cool News (“Contest Website”) and their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, distributors, licensees and the advertising, fulfillment, judging and promotion agencies involved in the development and administration of this Promotion (collectively, “Promotion Parties”), and their immediate family members (parent, child, sibling and spouse of each) and those living in the same households of each are not eligible. Void elsewhere and where prohibited by law.
2.            Promotion Period: The Promotion begins on 2/4/08 and ends on 2/18/08 (the "Promotion Period").
3.            How to Enter: During the Promotion Period, go to www.aintitcool.com (“Website”) and click on the link to locate the official entry form. Follow the on-screen directions, answer all 3 questions after reading the free “Bizarre New World” contest PDF, choose a number between 0 – 9999, complete all required registration fields and submit to enter. Entrants must complete all required information, and complete it truthfully. LIMIT ONE (1) ENTRY PER PERSON/E-MAIL ADDRESS. Grand Prize Drawing: On 2/19/08, the Contest Website will compare the last 4 digits of the closing figure of the Dow Jones Industrial to all eligible contest entries and find any exact matches, or the closest matches without going over the exact number. If more than one entry has a winning match, the Contest Website will hold a random drawing of those entries to choose a final winner.
5.            Prizes, Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) & Odds: The Grand Prize is one custom saber manufactured by Advanced Light Weaponry. Total Value $500.00. No substitution, cash redemption or transfer of prize is permitted except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. All federal, state and local taxes, and all other costs associated with acceptance or use of the prize, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Arrangements for delivery of prize will be performed after winner validation. LIMIT ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE PER PERSON/EMAIL ADDRESS/HOUSEHOLD. Odds of winning the Grand Prize depend on the number of entries received. Winners will be notified by email, mail or telephone. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded.
6.            General Rules: All federal, state and local laws apply. Potential winner may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability and a Publicity Release within ten (10) days of attempted delivery or prize will be forfeited. The return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable or failure to return any documents in a timely manner may result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be chosen.
